Privacy Policy
The short version
DotcomDealer is a domain-industry news and tools site. We don't sell your data, we don't run intrusive tracking, and we collect as little as possible. This page explains what happens when you use the site.
What we collect
We do not require an account to read the site. If you use our domain availability tool, the name you type is sent to a public RDAP lookup service to check registration status, we don't store your searches.
Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard technical logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and performance. If we add a newsletter, we only store the email address you choose to give us, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
Cookies and third parties
When you click an affiliate link to a registrar (such as GoDaddy or Namecheap), that company may set its own cookies to track the referral so we can be credited for a sale. Those cookies are governed by that company's own privacy policy, not ours.
News headlines on our site link out to their original publishers. Once you leave DotcomDealer, the destination site's privacy policy applies.
What we don't do
We don't sell or rent personal information. We don't build advertising profiles on you. We don't knowingly collect information from children.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the site grows. Material changes will be reflected here. Questions? Email hello@dotcomdealer.com.
